Custom Closets & Closet Systems in St. Petersburg & Tampa Bay
J Fox LLC designs and builds custom closet systems across St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay: walk-in and reach-in closets built from full plywood and designed around how you actually live, not a one-size kit. Hanging, drawers, and shelving with a clean, finished look that outlasts wire or particle-board kits. Licensed FL GC, CGC1539933.
What It Is
Built from plywood, not particle board.
Most closet systems are particle board and wire. Ours are built from full plywood, the same material we use in custom cabinetry, so shelves don't sag, drawers run true, and the system lasts. The result looks and feels like furniture, because it's built like furniture.
And it's designed around you. We start with what you own and how you live: how much hangs long versus short, how many drawers you need, where shoes and bags go. From there we design a system that fits, instead of forcing your things into a one-size kit.

The Plywood Difference
A closet built like furniture lasts like furniture.
Kits are cheaper up front, but particle board sags and wire shelving bows, especially in Florida humidity. We build from full plywood with real joinery, so the system holds weight, stays square, and still looks right years later.
Designed around your space and your storage, a custom closet adds daily function and helps a home show better at resale, particularly in older St. Pete homes, where original closets are small and storage is a real selling point.

Common Questions
Custom closets FAQ.
-
For most homeowners, yes. A well-built closet adds daily function and can help a home show better at resale. Built from plywood, it also lasts far longer than a wire or particle-board kit.
-
It depends on size and configuration. Most projects start around $1,500; a typical reach-in runs $1,500-$3,500, and full walk-in systems with drawers and an island generally land between $4,000 and $12,000. We give a clear written estimate after seeing the space. No vague numbers.
-
Kits are cheaper up front but limited to fixed modules of particle board that sags in Florida humidity. A custom system is built from ¾-inch plywood to your exact wall dimensions, uses every inch, including the corners kits waste, and is finished to match your home's trim.
-
Most closets are completed in 1-3 days depending on size and finish. We give a realistic timeline with your estimate.
-
Full plywood casework with real joinery, finished to your choice of paint or stain, built to hold weight and last in Florida's climate.
-
Yes, reach-in closets are some of our highest-impact projects, turning a single rod and shelf into real, usable storage.
