Custom Cabinets & Cabinet Installation in St. Petersburg & Tampa Bay
J Fox LLC builds and installs custom cabinets across St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay: kitchen, bath, laundry, garage, and office cabinetry set level, plumb, and finished with the clean trim-out most installers rush. We also modify existing cabinets and reface sound boxes. Licensed Florida general contractor, CGC1539933.
What It Is
Cabinet installation done right.
A cabinet install is only as good as its details: doors and drawers that line up, gaps scribed to the wall, fillers that look intentional, and crown that ties the run to the ceiling. We install your cabinetry, whether you bought it or we built it custom, with the precision that separates a finished kitchen from an okay one.
Because we're finish carpenters first, we're strongest at the trim-out, the part most installers rush. Crown, light rail, fillers, toe kicks, and scribes done so the whole run looks built-in and intentional, not assembled.

New, Custom, or Refaced
We'll recommend the right path, honestly.
Not every kitchen needs all-new cabinetry. If your boxes are solid, refacing can deliver a custom look for less. If you want a true custom layout, we build and install it. If the boxes are failing, which is common with particle board in Florida humidity, replacement is the smarter spend.
We'll walk your space and tell you straight which path fits your goals and budget, instead of selling you the biggest job.

Common Questions
Cabinet installation FAQ.
-
A typical kitchen install runs a few days to a week depending on size and how much trim-out is involved. Crown, light rail, and fillers add time but make the finished run. Vanities and laundry cabinets are often same-day to 1-2 days. We confirm the timeline with your estimate.
-
Refacing fits when your boxes are structurally sound and you mainly want a new look; it typically costs 40-50% less than full replacement. Replacement makes sense when you want a new layout, or when particle-board boxes have swollen in Florida humidity. We assess your cabinets and recommend honestly.
-
Yes. We install homeowner- and designer-supplied cabinetry as well as cabinetry we build. Big-box and online cabinets almost never fit Florida walls perfectly out of the carton; we scribe fillers, level the run, and trim it out so a supplied kitchen still looks custom-installed.
-
Both. We build custom cabinetry with 3/4" plywood boxes, soft-close hardware, and paint or stain to match your home, and we also install new or supplied cabinets. Either way, every job ends with the same clean trim-out: crown, fillers, toe kicks, and hardware.
-
Yes: kitchens, baths, laundries, mudrooms, offices, and garages. Kitchens are the biggest share of our cabinet work, but the same standard applies everywhere: level, plumb, scribed to the wall, and trimmed out so the run looks built-in rather than assembled.
-
It depends on scope, materials, and whether you're refacing, installing, or building custom. Hardware swaps and small vanity installs start around $1,500; refacing an average kitchen typically lands in the mid four figures; full custom kitchens run more. We give a clear written estimate after seeing the space.
